Sales Referral program:

The commission / referral fee is 10%.

There are two ways to benefit from this program, Direct Referral and Campaign Referral. The rules are simple:

Direct Referral

If you feel that a domain name we own would be ideal for a client or associate of yours, simply drop us an e-mail with the term 'direct referral' in the subject line and the following information:

Your name
Your e-mail address
Your phone number
The name of the company you feel would be a good candidate for our domain name
The primary contact name at that company
The e-mail address of the primary contact
Their address
Their phone number
Their URL/website address

Keep a copy of your e-mail to us in a folder for future reference and to protect your interests in case we end up selling the name to someone you referred to us but you did not receive your commission. Upon receipt of your e-mail, we will send you an acknowledgement that you have advised us of the contact referral. File this acknowledgement letter from us in the same folder, for the same reasons. If for some reason you do not receive this acknowledgement, contact us by phone, fax, e-mail or all 3 methods and demand it. We will comply.

Upon sale of the domain name, we will advise you via e-mail and request your shipping address (for Federal Expres, etc.) and your Social Security number or Federal Tax ID number if you are a business.

Upon complete settlement of the domain name sale, we will cut a check to you for the full amount of your commission within 5 business days of the client's check funds clearing at our bank. If there are no 'Non Disclosure Agreements" respecting the sale price that were part of the deal, we will also make a copy of the original settlement check received from the buyer of the domain name and include this with your commission check.

If your referral turns out to be a lease, we will issue checks for funds received on each lease payment under the same rules as above.


Campaign Referral

This program is for those aggressive, entrepreneurial souls who want to take the initiative in marketing our domain names but cannot or do not want to send 'candidate' information as noted in the Direct Referral program above for every single contact they make. You still need to send us some information so we know that it is you who is doing this.

If you wish to participate in our Campaign Referral program, simply drop us an e-mail with the term 'campaign referral' in the subject line and the following information:

Your name
Your e-mail address
Your phone number

Also indicate if you are going after a particular domain name or simply plan to do general mailings.

Here is what you do and do not do:

For this method, you become a direct marketer (NOT a SPAM marketer). Using your best search engine skills, sift the Internet for, as an example, all rug and carpet commerce websites. We'll assume you want to sell one of these domain names:

ValueCarpeting.com
ValueRug.com
ValueRugs.com
ValueFloor.com
ValueFloors.com
ValueFlooring.com

Once you have a list of search results, drill into each website and seek out both the marketing function e-mail address and the webmaster's e-mail address. Send them a simple letter similar to one of the following:

I am a website promotion specialist. An affiliate of mine owns several domain names which are directly applicable to your rug, carpet and flooring products. You can view these domains by going to their website at:

Do not be 'put off' by their pricing. I have a formal affiliate relationship with them and can exercise considerable leverage in negotiating a price which is 'in line' with your budget.

IMPORTANT

As you mail out your inquiries, put a consistent comment in the subject line, such as "your domain name". Copies of these letters will end up in your "Sent" folder (inside your e-mail client). At the end of the mailing effort, open your "Sent" folder and select all that you have sent out and copy or move them to a separate folder so you have a record of all your direct contacts for that day. Then, send us an e-mail with the number of solicitations sent with copies of all of these e-mails attached to it (it won't take very long to do). We will keep your e-mail in a folder we establish for you and also mail you an acknowledgement that they have been received. As above, this is for your protection.

As a side note, you might also end up picking up some website promotion work or website (re)development work for your efforts. If you don't have skills in any of these areas - rest assured that we do... and the same deal (commission / referral fee) will apply for any work turned over to us.

Please do not...

buy a mailing list and SPAM the daylights out of the entire online community. It will cancel your agreement with us, reflect unfavorably on both of us, and could cause substantial damage to our reputation and the integrity of our website (subject us to Denial Of Service attacks - aka DOS attacks). We want to market these domains - and others in the future, in a tasteful and professional manner.

If your "MO" is bulk mail, you should still register with us, but do not direct recipients to our website. You may borrow whatever content of our website you wish as long as it is to sell our domain names, modify the contact information - and put it up on your own website. This way, you can utilize your own marketing techniques (which, obviously, we don't approve of) to take advantage of this opportunity - without exposing us or our ISP to damaging attacks.
